Are tax cuts benefiting the people? : COPF

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Parliamentary Committee on Public Finance headed by MP Anura Priyadarshana Yapa today requested for the Ministry of Finance to probe whether the public is reaping the benefits of taxes of imported goods such as rice being reduced. 

In a Parliamentary Communique, the Committee on Public Finance has stated that the Ministry of Finance should take a more active role in probing whether the benefits are adequately received by the public. 

The Committee convened under the Chairmanship of MP Anura Priyadarshana Yapa and several other Parliamentarians including Vidura Wickramanayake, M.A. Sumanthiran, Nalin Fernando and Prof. Ranjith Bandara.
