SJB to go ahead with NCM, other parties in discussion

COLOMBO (News 1st); An emergency meeting of the Samagi Janabalawegaya Parliamentary Group took place on Saturday (16) evening where a decision was made to submit the no-confidence motion against the government to the Speaker, soon.

Further discussions were held on the possibility of handing over the no-confidence motion to the Speaker within the next Parliamentary week with the signatures of a sufficient number of Members.

The General Secretary of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya Ranjith Maddumabandara said that the organization of a massive march from Kandy to Colombo against the anti-people activities of the government was also discussed at the group meeting.

Meanwhile, all SLFP organizers have been summoned to Colombo on Tuesday 19).

General Secretary of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party Dayasiri Jayasekara said that a special meeting is scheduled to be held on that day under the chairmanship of former President Maithripala Sirisena.

He also said that a meeting with the other parties that supported the government and the independent MPs from the ruling SLPP will take place on Monday (18).

Meanwhile, the TNA stated that it will announce its final decision on the no-confidence motion against the government this week.
