Several protests demanding for fuel today

COLOMBO (News 1st); Polaththapitiya residents were engaged in a protest by blocking the Dambulla main road from Kurunegala town for almost one and half hours today (17), demanding fuel.

The residents, who were engaged in the protest have allowed for an ambulance to pass, however, a tense situation arose when a VIP vehicle attempted to pass the protestors.

Meanwhile, the News 1st correspondent stated that there are long queues for petrol at petrol stations in Nawalapitiya.

Moreover, a group of residents in the Thumbagoda area staged a protest this afternoon blocking the Balangoda-Ratnapura main road, demanding for fuel as well.
