Relatives of inmates awarded visitation privileges for New Year

COLOMBO (News 1st); Prison inmates will be awarded visitation privileges from today (12) until the 16th of April, to mark the Sinhala and Tamil New Year.

Accordingly, three relatives will be given the opportunity to visit and meet with one inmate.

Meanwhile, the Department of Prisons said a prisoner has been given the opportunity to receive a parcel of rice and sweets prepared by relatives at home, and the opportunity for relatives to deposit additional Rs. 2,000/- for prisoners.
