COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka’s Gas shortage has still not been solved, similar to all the other crises going on in the country.

People do not have cooking gas to prepare sweets for the Sinhala & Tamil New Year, and they were waiting in queues for hours at gas distribution centres across the island.

People in Nagoda, Galle held a protest in front of the Nagoda Gas Distribution Center demanding gas.

Sri Lanka Police said that traffic came to a standstill as a result of the protest.

Gas was distributed to the people who had been waiting near the Hikkaduwa weekly fair since this morning, by a gas lorry that reached the premises.
