Medicine Shortage : Hospital staff in protests

COLOMBO (News 1st); Doctors, Nurses, and Health sectors around the country have organized protests in several areas of the country to voice their concerns over the shortage of medicines.

The Galle branch of the Government Medical Officers' Association (GMOA) warned at a media briefing in Galle on Thursday (7) that the lives of patients are being seriously affected due to the shortage of medicine in the country.

A protest was also held in front of the State Pharmaceutical Corporation in Ratmalana on Friday (8) afternoon against the shortage of medicines in the country.

The protesters demanded immediate solutions to the shortage of medicines.
