COLOMBO (News 1st); National Child Protection Authority urged parents and guardians to prevent children from participating in protests and demonstrations.

This request is made after noticing the participation of children in the recent protests and demonstrations.

Since Sri Lanka is a signatory to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child in 1991, it is committed to ensuring the maximum safety and well-being of children as well as the prevention of accidents or physical or psychological harm.
