40,000 MT of Diesel reaches SL, but people still in line

COLOMBO (News 1st); Although a shipment of 40,000 MT of Diesel reached Sri Lanka on Wednesday (6), Sri Lankans are still in line waiting for fuel distribution to commence.

People have been waiting outside filling stations since Thursday (7) morning, anticipating the arrival of Diesel filled bowsers.

Meanwhile, a heated situation was going on at the Ampara filling station on Thursday (7) morning.

People complained that even though there was fuel at the filling station, it was NOT being released.

The News 1st Correspondent said that due to this the people who had been waiting in line for hours were severely inconvenienced.

The situation was resolved at around 1.30 AM with the intervention of the Ampara Police Inspector.
