COLOMBO (News 1st): Dr. P. Nandalal Weerasinghe, has been appointed as the Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.

Currently a deputy governor after a stint with the IMF, Weerasinghe expects to take over as governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka on April 7th.

He will be replacing Ajith Nivard Cabraal who stepped down on Monday (4).

Speaking exclusively to News 1st, Dr. Weerasinghe said he accepted the President’s Offer to take up the post of Central Bank Governor.
