COLOMBO (News 1st): Social Media Activist, University Student Thisara Anuruddha Bandara, who was arrested has been released on bail, after being produced before the Hulftsdorp Magistrate’s Court on Saturday night (Apr. 2).

After being arrested, Thisara Anuruddha was detained at the Criminal Investigation Division of the Modara Police, on Saturday (2) evening.

Thisara Anuruddha Bandara, a social media activist and university student, was arrested under Section 120 of the Penal Code.

The youth was arrested by a team of officers from the Colombo North Crimes Division in the Ethgala area in Gampola at around midnight on Friday (Apr. 1).

He was taken to the Modara Police Station on Saturday (2) afternoon and detained until produced before court.

As soon as the incident was reported, a large number of lawyers, social and political activists came to the Modara Police Station while many lawyers volunteered to represent him.
