COLOMBO (News 1st); The Ministry of Public Defense states that steps have been taken to tighten security in several places based on intelligence received.

The Minister of Public Defense, Retired Rear Admiral Dr. Sarath Weerasekera stated that relevant departments have been instructed to take necessary steps in this regard.

Moreover, the Minister stated that he respects the constitutional right of the people to protest peacefully.

However, Minister Weerasekera emphasized that the law will be enforced against anyone who act in a manner that damages public and public property.
