COLOMBO (News 1st); Activist and university student, Thisara Anuruddha Bandara has been arrested and is being detained at the Modara Police Criminal Investigations Unit. 

He was arrested in Gampola area, while the Human Rights Commission has appointed a team to probe the legitimacy of the arrest.

Upon News 1st inquiry, the Police stated that he was arrested under Section 120 of the Penal Code, and that he will be produced  before the Colombo 6 Magistrate’s Court.
