Diesel to operate Telecommunication Towers

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Ministry of Technology said that steps have been taken to deliver Diesel required ensure that telecommunication towers are operational during power outages.

The Secretary to the Ministry of Technology, Jayantha de Silva said that 3,000 Liters of Diesel was released for the generators on Tuesday (29) to activate the towers.

With the prolongation of power outages, the fuel crisis has hampered the operation of telecommunication towers in several areas.

The Secretary to the Ministry of Technology stated that the Ministry is ready to release the fuel required to operate the generators on the telephone towers at any time.
