COLOMBO (News 1st); The Public Utilities Commission (PUCSL) states that the power crisis will be exacerbated if there is no rain in the future.

Its Chairman, Janaka Ratnayake stated that the water in the hydro power plants will be sufficient for another 10 days.

He further stated that as the Kelawarapitiya power plant has stopped generating electricity, if fuel oil and diesel are not available in the future, there will be a delay in generating electricity.

Ratnayake also mentioned that 9 million units of electricity are being obtained from hydro power these days and issues in power generation will be aggravated in the future due to this situation.

Meanwhile, the power generation at the Kerawalapitiya plant has come to a standstill due to a lack of fuel.
