Sri Lanka should be made self-sufficient in liquid milk: Mahindananda

COLOMBO (News 1st); Minister of Agriculture Mahindananda Aluthgamage states that the objective of the Government is to make the country self-sufficient in liquid milk.

Expressing views while participating in an awareness program on the promotion of liquid milk held in Gannoruwa, Kandy today (20), the Minister stated that although the Government provided lands for investors, they have not been able to initiate production.

The minister expressed his displeasure claiming no one will want to invest in the country if hinderances like this continue to inconvenience them.

Additionally, Minister Aluthgamage assured that the Ministry will intervene and solve these issues in order to reach the goal of making the country self sufficient in liquid milk.
