COLOMBO (News 1st); The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation states that it has decided to close the Sapugaskanda oil refinery from tomorrow night (20).
A Spokesperson stated that the decision was taken due to the lack of sufficient crude oil for refining activities, however the required crude oil has been ordered from several private companies.
Yet, the Spokesperson stated that a specific date for the receipt of the order has not been announced.
However, the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation stated that operations at the refinery will resume as soon as the crude oil is received.
Meanwhile, a ship carrying 20,000 metric tons of diesel is scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka from India tomorrow (20), in line with the loan agreement with India.
