COLOMBO (News 1st); The Ministry of Education states that there is no impediment to conducting term examinations at the provincial level.
When inquired from the Secretary to the Education Ministry, Prof. Kapila Perera, he stated that probes at the provincial level are being made regarding the printing of examination question papers being hampered due to the shortage of paper and raw materials.
Accordingly, the Provincial Directors of Education have informed him that there are no such problems in the North Western, Sabaragamuwa, North Central, Eastern and Uva Provinces at present, said the Secretary to the Ministry, Prof. Kapila Perera.
The Secretary further said that Secretary to the President Gamini Senerath had also agreed to fulfill the required raw materials under the Indian loan facility in case of any issues in procuring paper for education.
Accordingly, the Secretary points out that there is no need to postpone the term examinations scheduled to be held this term in certain Provinces.
