COLOMBO (News 1st); The Department of Meteorology announced that fairly cloudy skies can be expected in the Central, Southern, Western, Sabaragamuwa, Uva, and Eastern provinces.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at a few places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, and Uva provinces and Nuwara-Eliya and Kandy districts after 2.00 p.m on Thursday (17).

A few showers will occur in the coastal areas of Southern province during this morning.

Mainly fair weather will prevail elsewhere over the Island.

The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
