COLOMBO (News 1st); The Sri Lanka Embassy in Ankara says that 24 Sri Lankans are currently remaining in Ukraine, amidst the country's crisis with Russia.
Ambassador of Sri Lanka in Turkey, Mohamed Hassen stated that 64 Sri Lankans have been able to leave the war-torn country so far.
Sri Lanka's Foreign Minister Professor G. L. Peiris on Wednesday (9) revealed that 27 Sri Lankans continue to remain in Ukraine and have expressed their unwillingness to leave.
Meanwhile, a 24/7 hotline was established at the Moscow Mission with a dedicated officer to assist the Sri Lankan students who wish to move to Russia in the present situation, especially aiming at 1,561 Sri Lankans, mainly university students, who are living in Belarus.
