COLOMBO (News 1st); Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake on Tuesday (8) raised concerns on the status of the investigations pertaining to the allegations of the Pandora Papers’ exposures.
“Public funds were amassed by a small group as exposed by the Pandora Papers,” said the MP.
He further said the Pandora Papers exposed links to Former Deputy Minister Nirupama Rajapaksa and her spouse Thiru Nadesan.
MP Dissanayake said that the Director-General (Legal Affairs) to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa on October 3, 2021, told the media that the President had given an order to the CIABOC to investigate the matters pertaining to the Pandora Papers’ allegations and to report back within a month.
“The investigation report should have been submitted on or before November 3, 2021,” said the MO.
It seems that the report has not yet been submitted to the President, he said.
“Four months have passed and have any inquiries being made from the CIABOC over the investigation report,” MP Dissanayake asked.
The MP said he expects the government announces its position on the investigations on the Pandro Papapers Expose, to Parliament soon.
