COLOMBO (News 1st); The Ceylon Teachers' Service Union points out that a serious problem has arisen with regard to transporting children and teachers to schools from upcoming Monday (07).
The General Secretary of the Ceylon Teachers' Service Union, Mahinda Jayasinghe demanded as to how children and teachers will be able to go to schools when schools start on 7th March, as school transport buses and vans have to line up to obtain fuel.
On the other hand, Jayasinghe further stated, the evaluation of A/L answer scripts is underway, and even now, the teachers are being provided transportation in the midst of extreme difficulties.
Jayasinghe further alleged that then the COVID-19 crisis was emerging in the world, the Government did not seek a solution, and even when the country was in the throes of a massive dollar crisis, the crisis went unrecognized.
Therefore, he added that it becomes doubtful whether the crisis faced on Monday will be resolved in advance.
