Fuel Crisis affect Sri Lanka’s passenger transport buses

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Ceylon Private Bus Owners’ Association stated that obtaining fuel for private Buses for Public Transport has become a crisis.

The Chairman of the Ceylon Private Bus Owners Association stated that approximately 25 – 30 % of Private Buses are operating in the country.

At the present filling stations do not have Fuel, however filling stations which have Fuel, have experienced long queues.

Furthermore, he stated that Private Bus drivers in the country have informed him that, in case of Fuel shortage they will not be able to operate.
