Heavy rains expected for many areas

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Department of Meteorology stated that showers are likely at times in the Northern, North-Central, Eastern and Uva provinces and in Matale and Hambanthota districts.

Showers or Thundershowers could also be expected at several places in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts during the evening-hours or tonight on Wednesday (23).

The general public has been requested to take precautions.
