Police hunt for hit & run tipper truck driver

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka Police is hunting for a tipper truck driver responsible for a hit and run, that killed a 11-year-old girl in Mattala on Tuesday (22) morning.

It was confirmed that the girl who was run over by the tipper died on the spot.

The Hambantota Police stated that the Tipper Truck that had run over the girl had stopped about 500 meters away and, thereafter the driver had fled.

Police further said that the girl and her mother were traveling from Hambantota to Gonnoruwa on a Motorbike.
