Peoples' right to transportation and power are being taken away: MP Patali

COLOMBO (News 1st); The peoples' right to transportation and power are being taken away simply because the Government does not have 36 million dollars, says SJB MP Patali Champika Ranawaka. 

Expressing his views regarding the power crisis, MP Ranawaka pointed out that the ship carrying 37,500 MT of diesel, which arrived at the port is requesting for an advance payment of 36 million dollars as Sri Lanka is not credible anymore, and State banks have failed to make this payment as well. 

Citing media reports of CBSL Governor restricting State banks from issuing loans and letters of credit to the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation, MP Ranawaka added that under the current circumstances, the banking system continues to struggle.
