50,000 MT of paddy purchased in 17 days

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Paddy Marketing Board stated that 50,000 MT of Paddy was purchased within 17 days.
The Chairman of the Paddy Market Board, Neil De Alwis stated that the Paddy storage facilities were opened in all dirstrics during the Maha Season.
Further, he stated that the Government intends to purchase 300,000 MT of paddy.
In addition, he said that steps have been taken to deploy Mobile Units to purchase Paddy.
