New circular on electricity & fuel saving

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Ministry of Public Services, Provincial Councils, and Local Government stated that a circular will be issued on Monday (21), containing a series of instructions for all Government Institutions to use electricity and fuel providently.

The Secretary of the Ministry of Public Service, J.J. Ratnasiri stated that, as per the instructions, Government Institutions have been advised to reduce the use of Air Conditioners and to switch off unnecessary lights as much as possible.

The circular will further restrict the use of Government vehicles to summon officials from distant areas to Colombo for discussions and seminars.

Further, he stated that instructions were issued for meetings and discussions to be held via Zoom.

In addition, a new circular will also provide instructions for the usage of State-owned vehicles for official purposes ONLY.
