Protest & Counter-Protest over Anamaduwa Quarry

COLOMBO (News 1st); Almost a hundred people have taken to the streets in Anamaduwa, Puttlam to protest against a quarry operating in the area.

According to our News 1st correspondent, quarry workers have also launched a counter-protest.

Vehicular movement along the Anamaduwa - Chilaw road came to a standstill as a result of the protest.

Police Officers from the Anamaduwa Police station were called to the location to control the situation.
