COLOMBO (News 1st): The Department of Examinations has implemented a special programme to facilitate the candidates who have contracted the COVID-19 virus and those who are in quarantine, ahead of the 2021 GCE Advanced Level Examination scheduled to commence on Monday (Feb. 7). Accordingly, special Examination Centers have been set up for GCE A/L candidates infected with COVID-19. It is mandatory for candidates who are under quarantine, to report to the designated Examination Center as mentioned in their Admission Form and inform the Head of the Examination Centre that they are in quarantine, the Examinations Department emphasized. Such candidates will then have the opportunity to sit for the examination in a special examination room allocated for them at the centre, in accordance with the proper hygienic procedures. The COVID-19 infected candidates may sit for the A/L exam, at any of the Special Examination Centers set up at the hospital level of the respective district or at the Special Examination Center nearest to their place of residence. Further information in this regard could be obtained from the respective MOH or via the hotline 1911. The same examination rules and regulations will be implemented at all Special Examination Centers dedicated to COVID-19 cases, L. M. D. Dharmasena, the Commissioner-General of Examinations noted.
