COLOMBO (News 1st); The 2022 Winter Olympics is to be held on Friday (4) in Beijing, China, 2022.

According to the international reports, nearly 3,000 athletes representing over 90 countries will compete in Beijing, China, in the 2022 Winter Olympics.

This will be the first time Beijing has hosted the Winter Olympics.

Two nearby cities will also host athletes for outdoor sports, while Beijing will solely host indoor ice sports.

Similar to the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, the 2022 Beijing Olympics will not allow international fans to attend the games due to the current pandemic.

In terms of Chinese residents attending the Olympics, only a selected amount of spectators were allowed to purchase tickets.

The 2022 Winter Olympic cost for Beijing was much lower than in recent years. Their budget reached $3.9 billion, compared to the $40 billion budget Beijing had in 2008 for the Summer Olympics.
