Teen drown after taken away by strong currents in Boossa

COLOMBO (News 1st); A student has died after being swept away by strong currents at seas off Boossa, Wellabada area.

Police stated that the student had been caught in a current while going to the beach in Wellabada with his father on Saturday (29) afternoon.

The father has survived the incident, however, the 14-year-old student has drowned.

Meanwhile, Police stated that further operations are underway to find a girl who went missing after bathing at Garandi Ella falls in Atampitiya, Bandarawela.
