No power cuts during G.C.E. A/Ls: Education Minister

COLOMBO (News 1st); Authorities have been instructed to ensure that no power cuts will take place during the G.C.E. Advanced Level examination, the Minister of Education, Dinesh Gunawardena states.

The 2021 G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination is scheduled to commence on February 07, 2022 and conclude on March 5th.

The Minister of Education said this while participating in the opening and closing ceremonies of 8 roads in Godagama, Homagama on Sunday (30).

Accordingly, the Minister states that he hoped that there would be no power cuts during the G.C.E. Advanced Level examination.

He also said that the Commissioner of Examinations has made all arrangements for the examination which was scheduled to be held last November, on the instructions of the Ministry.

The Minister of Education Dinesh Gunawardena mentioned that his intention is to reduce the time period between the examination and the results G.C.E. Advanced Level results by half in order to reduce youth wasting time in between.

The Minister also said that if delays in examination results and delays in entering the university are prevented, about an year's time can be regained for the child's education.
