Principal arrested for soliciting bribes, remanded until Feb. 10th

COLOMBO (News 1st); The principal of a popular boys' school in Panadura who was arrested on charges of soliciting bribes has been remanded till the 10th of February.

The suspect was remanded after being produced before the Panadura Additional Magistrate.

The Director of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) SSP Nuwan Asanka stated that the suspect was arrested on Friday (28) afternoon while accepting a bribe of Rs. 150,000 to admit a student to the first grade of the school.
