COLOMBO (News 1st): The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) has agreed to supply 10,000 metric tonnes of Diesel for the Kelanitissa Power Plant Complex, the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) said on Friday (Jan. 21).
The process of pumping this stock of Diesel has already begun, Andrew Nawamani, the Additional Manager and Spokesperson of the Ceylon Electricity Board told News 1st.
Accordingly, the generation of electricity at the Kelanitissa Power Plant can continue without any hindrance, he noted.
The CPC has taken the necessary steps to supply 500 metric tonnes of Heavy Fuel Oil or Furnace Oil required for power generation at the Sapugaskanda Power Station and the Barge Mounted Power Plant at the Colombo Port, Andrew Nawamani further added.
An uninterrupted supply of electricity is possible today (21), the CEB said.
