COLOMBO (News 1st); The Minister of Power, Gamini Lokuge has expressed confidence that the current power crisis situation would come to an end.
He stated that if the required fuel for power plants is received within Thursday (20), electricity could be provided without any power cuts.
Minister Gamini Lokuge also stated that the total capacity of the Norochcholai power plant could be added to the national grid from 25th January.
Two power stations at the Kelanitissa power plant complex were shut down on Wednesday (19) due to the lack of fuel.
Due to this, several areas across the country experienced power outages for an hour and a half last night.
The national grid had lost 282 megawatts as a result of the power station failure.
