COLOMBO (News 1st); The Ceylon Electricity Board states that an expert from China will be arriving in Sri Lanka to inspect the generator that has malfunctioned at the Norochcholai coal power plant.
Chairman of the CEB, M. M. C. Ferdinando, said that the CEB hopes to repair the generator soon and add 300 megawatts to the National grid.
He further stated that the current situation regarding the supply of electricity will be resolved to a certain extent.
Meanwhile, arrangements have been made to supply uninterrupted supply of coal to the Norochcholai Power Plant.
The CEB Chairman also noted that the current stocks of coal will be sufficient until May this year.
