COLOMBO (News 1st): Speaking on the electricity crisis parliamentarian Patali Champika Ranawaka from the main opposition Samagi Jana Balawegaya noted, that he specifically said in December 2021 that there will be power outages in the country once rains stop for six months.

By the end of this month and the beginning of next month we will have to face a serious energy crisis, said Ranawaka.

The MP who was a former Minister of Power and Energy pointed out the power outages that occur for 1 -2 hours today could drag on for several hours in the future.

He further added that the current government lacks a plan to maintain a sufficient supply of electricity.
