COLOMBO (News 1st); The Government has fallen to such a low level that the Ministers keep on going on 'Takgala tours' (quick tours) to earn the country some funds, alleges the Opposition Leader.

Speaking during a party meeting held in Welioya on Friday (07), the Opposition Leader said that before the International community, Sri Lanka has fallen to a state where it is begging for funds, and this refutes the previous policies and claims of the Government of not bowing down to foreign nations.

It has come to a point where the country has no funds, and is printing money, which then resulted in the rupee being depreciated, Premadasa said, adding that Sri Lanka will fall to the catastrophic situation that Zimbabwe underwent when hyperinflation took place.

"What the Government should do is to resign. If it does not work then hold an election in the country immediately. Let someone tale responsibility to rebuild the shattered land," he added.
