All island blackout was a conspiracy: Electricity TUs

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Ceylon Electricity Trade Union Confederation alleges that the all-island blackout which took place during last year was a conspiracy, and was an act of sabotage. 

Convening a media briefing in Galle on Saturday (08), the President of the Ceylon Electricity Trade Union Confederation, Malaka Wickramasinghe stated that a committee report, which was issued regarding the power cut, also points out that the power outage was an act of conspiracy. 

Speaking further, Wickramasinghe stated that those who committed the crime are not ordinary, but are intelligent criminals and catching them is not going to be an easy task. 

Further alleging that there is an electricity mafia at operation, the TU mentioned that the criminals are stealing the public's wealth in unusual ways.
