Rs. 5,000/- allowance for private-sector? Labour Ministry exploring possibility

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka's Labour Minister Nimal Siripala De Silva said the ministry will explore the possibility of awarding the Rs. 5,000/- allowance for private-sector employees as well.

The government recently awarded an Rs. 5,000/- monthly allowance for all public sector employees.

The Labour Minister said the cabinet paper on the allowance for the Public Sector, empowers the minister to discuss the matter with the Private Sector.
