One dead in A/C compressor explosion in Kandy

COLOMBO (News 1st); One person was reported dead after an air conditioner (AC) compressor exploded at a hotel located down Second Rajasinghe Mawatha in Getambe, Kandy.

Sri Lanka Police said the deceased was attending to repairs on the A/C unit on Tuesday (4) afternoon when the incident took place.

The deceased was identified as a 24-year-old from Matale and an investigation is underway.
