Missing Fisherman : Police Inquiry Underway

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Ahungalla Police have commenced investigations into a fishing vessel which has not returned after leaving for fishing at the Ahungalla Balapitiya Brahmanawatta Port.

According to the Police, one fishermen was on board the vessel and had left for fishing on the 31st of December.

The Police have received a complaint that the fishing vessel which was supposed to reach the shore last morning (01), has not appeared.

The missing person has been identified as a resident of Ahungalla.

Meanwhile, Navy and residents of the area have launched a search operation to find the missing.
