COLOMBO (News 1st); If an alliance is formed between the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna and the Sri Lanka Freedom Party, it should be formed between the uncorrupt politicians of both parties, and not the Party itself, says the Propoganda Secretary of the JVP, Vijitha Herath.

Herath made these remarks responding to the remarks expressed by Sri Lanka Freedom Party General Secretary on the possibility of an alliance.

State Minister Dayasiri Jayasekara previously stated that it is not new for the SLFP to join with the JVP, as both parties have the necessary strength between them to reach and agreement and to form an alliance.

Emphasizing that there are no corrupt politicians, murderers or thieves in SLFP, its General Secretary stated that the Sri Lanka Freedom Party has become an uncorrupt party today, and it is possible to join hands with another uncorrupt party such as the JVP.

However, the General Secretary of the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna, Tilvin Silva stated that many seek to switch sides when the Government finds it difficult to continue, and pointed out that the JVP has no connection to the two main political parties that contributed for the downfall of the nation, and will continue to not to have any links to those who served in previous Governments as Ministers.
