COLOMBO (News 1st): The Ministry of Health has urged the people to limit parties and get-togethers in line with the upcoming festive season, to family members only given the spread of the Omicron variant of the COVID-19 virus.
“Such parties should be conducted with strict adherence to health guidelines,” Dr. Ranjith Batuwantudawa, the Director of the Health Promotion Bureau emphasized.
He also urged those who are eligible for the COVID-19 booster jab to receive the shot as soon as possible.
“The immunity provided by the booster shot could prevent deaths, adding that it is normal to experience certain minor symptoms such as pain in the inoculated arm for two-three days,” Dr. Batuwantudawa noted.
