COLOMBO (News 1st); The Department of Posts states that the number of postal items sent from Sri Lanka to foreign countries through the Express Mail Service (EMS), has seen a significant increase of 50 % after almost two years.
Rajitha Ranasinghe, the Deputy Postmaster General said it is noteworthy that Sri Lanka Post’s Express Mail Service (EMS) by competing with competitive world renowned courier brands has gained much attraction amongst the general public during the course of 2021.
” Anyone from Sri Lanka can hand in items at the Express Mail Service (EMS) from the Colombo Central Mail Exchange or (EMS) counters at post offices across the island and they will be sent through Airmail to their destinations ” Deputy Postmaster General said.
Even during restrictions, the service is currently in operation with a reach of 57 countries.
