Gas explosions: State Ministry to intervene for compensation

COLOMBO (News 1st); The State Ministry of Consumer Protection says it will intervene to obtain compensation for the people affected by recent gas explosions.

State Minister Alagiyawanna stated that discussions regarding the matter are currently underway with the relevant companies.

He also mentioned that the necessary measures will be taken after considering the recommendations of the committee appointed by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa to inquire into the recent gas explosions.

State Minister Alagiyawanna added that the recommendations are likely to be submitted within the next week.
