(News 1st); Sialkot Police on Friday (17) claimed to have arrested 33 more primary suspects involved in the lynching of 49-year-old Sri Lankan factory manager Priyantha Kumara, reports the Dawn.

A mob comprising hundreds of protesters, including the employees of the factory Kumara was the manager of, tortured him to death on December 3rd and later burnt his body, which became an incident that drew widespread condemnation from political circles and human rights bodies.

Investigator Tariq Mahmood, in a statement, said the 33 suspects will be presented in the anti-terrorism court Gujranwala on Friday (17), while the remand of 52 suspects had already been obtained from the Court.

As many as 85 suspects have been arrested in connection with the case so far, he added.

Meanwhile, the Punjab Assembly learned on Thursday (16) that 182 people had been taken into custody in the Sialkot tragedy and of them, 62 were released for lack of evidence.
