Low turnout for booster dose against COVID, says Sri Lanka's Health Chief

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka's Director General of Health Services Dr. Asela Gunawardena said there is less interest among the masses to obtain the booster dose against COVID-19.

He said it was paramount to obtain the booster against COVID-19 given that there could be a rise in cases during the December holidays.

He urged the people to ensure that they obtain the booster dose before delay, by contacting the local PHI, MOH, or by visiting any of the vaccination centers.

Further, he said that the COVID-19 prevention guidelines issued on the 1st of December were extended for another 15 days.
