Finance Minister goes abroad without solving issue, alleges AKD

COLOMBO (News 1st); JVP Leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake alleged that Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa, who is supposed to solve the rising cost of living and other issues, had decided to fly overseas rather than solve the issues faced by the people.

"More than 1,500 cargo containers of essential goods are stuck at the ports. There are gas explosions taking place. He is the Minister in charge of these subjects and he must solve these issues. But, he has gone to the US to see his grandchildren," alleged Dissanayake.

He slammed the Finance Minister and the Government for only working for their own interests and not the interests of the people.

The signing of the agreement to transfer shares of the Yugadhanavi Power Plant to a US-based company, clearly indicates that he is a Minister accountable to the United State of America and not to Sri Lanka, said Anura Kumara Dissanayake,

He said the situation has reached a critical level where the country's assets are being given away as per the wishes of Americans.
