Government continues to play with people's lives: MP Attanayake

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Government continues to play with people's lives and plant bombs in people's homes, alleges Samagi Jana Balawegaya MP Tissa Attanayake.

Making several remarks at an event in Dambulla on Sunday (12), MP Attanayake pointed out that the Opposition has constantly highlighted the gas issue in Parliament, however despite the warnings, the Government has not yet taken steps to punish the wrongdoers.

In addition, the MP stated that some dealers have not even taken steps to replace the gas cylinders that people are seeking to exchange for safer ones.

Emphasizing that this is a serious issue, MP Attanayake said that this also raises the question as to who regulates gas cylinders, and said that justice must be served for all parties responsible for this issue.

"They are playing with people's lives. The Government letting people have bombs in their homes," he added.
